In my writings here, I will no longer refer to methane, the climate heating driving gas, as "natural gas."

I do so based on a comment made by a speaker from Climate Central who gave a lecture I attended a little while back.

Dr. Andrew Pershing, Climate Central at D&R Johnson Center.

Dr. Pershing discussed how to discuss the collapse of the planetary atmosphere.

While I wasn't necessarily impressed with everything he said, especially when he referred to the idiots at the Union of Concerned "Scientists," whose horseman of the climate apocalypse is the mindless antinuke "expert" Ed Lyman, but I definitely agree that we should stop calling methane, the dominant component of so called "natural gas," that, "natural gas." (Lyman is an "expert" in dogma, but doesn't know shit from shinola about relative risk and thus is fine with fossil fuels whether he confesses as much or not. His ignorance and dogma works to kill people. He thinks that it's OK for fossil fuels to kill millions of people each year from air pollution just because he can imagine that someone somewhere might die from exposure to radiation.)

This is consistent with my view that I will not call Chornobyl, "Chernobyl" since the Ukrainian transliteration uses the "o" not the "e" in Russian.

Language matters.
