Video goes into explaining the Sankey Flow chart that breaks down our energy grid that we've seen at least a hundred times...

On the left is "Primary Energy" which becomes 'Secondary Energy' that becomes 'Final Energy' and then when it gets to us 'Useful Energy'
Useful Energy is on the right but it's not by itself - there's also 'Rejected Energy'. Rejected Energy is the waste along the way - the heat discarded while burning coal or nat gas, the heat that goes down the exhaust pipes of an ICE vehicle, etc... The video says that wind and solar bypass a couple of those steps and produce energy that is available as 'Useful Energy'. The video claims that renewables don't need to equal the total of 'Primary Energy' in the system but only about a 1/3 of the total!
