LOUISVILLE, Ky. Casino employees in southern Indiana will head to the picket line after a strike was called following failed contract negotiations.
According to the Teamsters Local 89, a bargaining committee gave Caesars Southern Indiana and their Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians a noon deadline on Saturday to agree to a contract.
A strike was called after Caesars and the EBCI failed to respond. The Teamsters called the non-response a lack of care and respect for the workers who make them the most profitable casino in the state.
They said they didnt want a strike but said none of their members demands were unreasonable including having the ability to retire with dignity.
