CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. — Hundreds of people who work for Clackamas County could hit the picket line in less than a week if they don't reach a deal by Monday.

Members of the Clackamas County Employees Union (CCEU) notified the county about its intention to strike on Friday. With 10 days' notice, the strike deadline falls on Monday, April 14.

The two sides spent Tuesday in mediation, but neither the county nor union elaborated on what was discussed.

The union represents 1,350 county employees who work in health care, public safety, parks and recreation, and office jobs all around the county.
