1. A little history lesson is in order here. John Lewis was 19 years old when he began his training in nonviolence from Rev. Jim Lawson.

2. The training wasn't 4 hours long. It lasted six months! The same 30 people, mostly young, came to a Nashville church basement to get it.

4. He put them through intensive role plays (some of which have been reenacted in the films Selma & The Butler in recent years) to rehearse.
