MacOS system software not updating.

2020 MacBook Air, M1 processor; installed MacOS is 15.7.

I am the sole user/administrator. I don't go to online casinos. I don't download porn. I don't have unauthorized versions of software. I don't try to download copyrighted movies or music from third party sites. The hard drive is nowhere near full.

Basically the computer leads a pretty boring existence.

I'm trying to update the OS to 15.7.1. I've made something like three attempts. Every time, I get this message:

Failed To Personalise the software update. Please try again

Before I try one of the startup options, does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Thanks.
