Weston County clerk declines to testify at legislative meeting about 2024 general election
NEWCASTLE Weston County Clerk Becky Hadlock was issued a subpoena from the Wyoming State Legislature subcommittee to appear either remotely or in-person at a meeting held in Casper to investigate 2024 General Election anomalies in Weston County.
She failed to do so.
Rep. Rachel Rodriguez-Williams, the chairman of the subcommittee, said at the fact-finding meeting the subcommittee held on Sept. 29 that Rep. Chris Knapp, the chairman of the 2025-Management Audit Committee, and the Legislative Service Office made good faith efforts to invite Hadlock to attend the meeting.
Rodriguez-Williams said that Knapp and Vice Chairman Dan Laurson subpoenaed Hadlock because the subcommittee, according to Knapp, needed all documents, reports and testimony to achieve its goal: prepare a report for the Management Audit Committee ahead of the committees Oct. 21 meeting.
