152 Green Bay voters mistakenly mailed 2 absentee ballots; prompts election fraud concerns

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- With the 2026 spring election less than a week away, the city of Green Bay is already facing an issue with some of its absentee ballots.

City Clerk Celestine Jeffreys said 152 voters were mistakenly sent two ballots. She said her office is ensuring votes do not get counted twice, but the incident has some voters asking questions about election fraud.

Green Bay resident David Baumgart votes absentee while living in Florida during the winter. He received the duplicate ballot just days after mailing back the original.

"At first I thought, 'Oh, did they get my ballot back and there was a problem?' But no explanation or anything. It was just obviously a second ballot. So, obviously I didn't send it in, because I had already voted," Baumgart said.
