Lake Mills School District seeks levy renewal on election day

ABC 6 News) – The Lake Mills Community School District is asking voters to approve the renewal of its physical plant and equipment levy (PPEL) to help keep the condition of the singular school building up to date.

Among the projects district leaders hope to complete with the renewed levy include, improvements to the school’s HVAC system, roof repairs, the purchase of new technology and improvements to district buses, among others.

One of the big focuses for the district is its current HVAC system. Vice president for the Lake Mills School Board, Casey Singelstad said even her fourth-grade son complains of the ventilation in the building.

“Evidently just now, our HVAC system is not being regulated in the fourth-grade hallway in the way that it should,” Singelstad said.
