Board takes a look at questionable ballots

he book will soon be closed on the 2025 General Election.

The Kittitas County Canvassing Board met Thursday for the first of three meetings that will culminate later this month in the certification of the Nov. 4 election.

At this week’s meeting in the Elections Center in the basement of the Kittitas County Courthouse, the canvassing board reviewed signatures and balloting issues arising from the election. The board is made up of the county auditor, the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners, and the county prosecutor (or their delegates),

The board reviews rejected ballots (signatures that do not match, unreadable or late postmarks, returns that are not signed) and vote on whether or not the ballot should be counted.
