Just got back to DE from Seattle

My second trip there in 7 months. Went with a friend who is a Saints fan--to watch the Seahawks pound them. But I enjoyed the Snoqualmie & Twin Falls, the Public Market (Pure Fish, Lowells), Beecher's cheese curds, a quick trip to Bainbridge after the game (where we had some good food at Ba Sa), and took in a Billy Idol and Joan Jett concert at the Climate Pledge Arena. Also took some killer pix from the top of the Columbia Center (which makes the Space Needle look like an amusement park ride). Stayed at the Paramount Hotel and loved it.

I love the light rail from the airport (stops about 2 blocks from the hotel) and the monorail to the concert. Also took the light rail to the Seahawks game.

Seattle is a great city, good transit, great food. People were nice and helpful. Absolutely no complaints.

Concert was a last-minute decision---I had wanted to see the Heavy Heavy b/c I knew they were in town, but it was a cruise concert that sold out. So I looked up who was in town and found Billy Idol. When I found out Joan Jett was with him, it sealed it and I snagged a ticket. It was a great concert!

Nature, art, good food. A little pricey, but probably worth it. Our tour guide for the waterfall trip was originally from Virginia and he pointed that out.

We live east of the Cascades in Washington. Spent a lot of time in Seattle through the years. Seattle gets a very bad rap nowadays. Glad to read you find it still pleasant and enjoyable. We always have!

Sounds like a great trip!

I do prefer my not-February version, but both were good. My Saints fan friend and I were talking about going back to do some hiking. I'm dying to get to Olympic National Park and/or take a trip to Vancouver from Seattle.

Somehow I missed Ranier Beer while I was there

My friend went on a "Booze and Boos" haunted tour while I was at the concert--I'll have to ask him if he tried it. Looks like quite an event---I was watching some of the old ads---herds of "Rainbeers" running around, etc. And it sounds like a cheap beer (I Iike Miller Lite) so I"d probably like it, LOL.

We have some of the rowdiest fans in the NFL. Almost every game is electric.

I also take the Link light rail to the game. My only complaint is it's often standing room only. Makes me wonder if the region (King, Pierce and Snohomish County are taxed for this) should have built a metro instead.

on the rail---and I did have to stand. Short trip, though. I'm a Steelers fan and try to get to a game every now and then. But the Seahawks fans were insanely loud (but not at all rude to the Saints fans there--although it quickly became apparent that the Saints were not a threat). I liked when they displayed "292 False Start Penalties" and then kept upping the tally with each one. I can see why other teams jump so much (and I liked that they played Jump by Van Halen after several of them). Got some good garlic fries there at the game (and a vegan dog). The first rain of our trip there came at the start of the game, though. So I hung in the concourse watching other highlights until it started. Then the sun came out and was blazing on our side of the stadium. Other than that it was a fun time!

I am really tired now, though!
