City will offer free bus service on Election Day

Danville Transit will offer free bus service citywide on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, to help remove transportation barriers for voters.

The free service applies to all Danville Transit operations, including fixed-route and reservation-based services. Fixed routes serve most polling locations, while the Reserve A Ride program provides door-to-door service, subject to availability.

In this year’s general election, registered voters will choose candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, House of Delegates District 49, commonwealth’s attorney, sheriff, commissioner of revenue, and treasurer.

Voters will also decide on a special election for the Danville School Board.
