Education Secretary Zoie Saunders sent a letter on Friday requesting school district leaders respond in 10 days. Federal guidance argues schools have used diversity programs, “social-emotional” learning and “culturally responsive” teaching to discriminate against students.

Following a federal order that schools ban diversity, equity and inclusion-related programs, the Vermont Agency of Education is asking school districts to submit compliance certifications.

Education Secretary Zoie Saunders told school district leaders in a letter on Friday that they had 10 days to submit their certification, but also said the agency believed certification required only that districts “reaffirm … compliance with existing law.”

President Donald Trump and his administration have threatened to withhold funding to public schools that fail to comply with the expansive order.

. . .

This is the Secretary of Education that Phil Scott, republican governor rammed through over the objections of the legislature, and the fact that she has no real education background. Seems part of the "agenda".
