Stuart Hene (R) claims victory in Tyler mayor race following release of unofficial results
TYLER, Texas — Stuart Hene has claimed victory in the Tyler mayoral race following the release of the unofficial election results.
Unofficial results from Saturday’s runoff election show Stuart Hene leading in the race for mayor of Tyler. Video posted by Tyler City Councilwoman Petra Hawkins show Hene claiming victory at an election party.
According to unofficial returns, Hene has so far received 57.43% of the vote, compared to 42.57% for opponent John Nix.
The runoff happened for this race because no one received more than 50% of the vote during the May 2 elections.
