This Is the First American City That Will Run Out of Water

Corpus Christi, Texas, could be the first American city to run out of water. Working people face drought restrictions, but oil and gas companies guzzle water — and pay less than everyone else. Six huge corporate water users consume 3x as much as everyone in town.

Correction: 7:18 The City Council voted down plans for the desalination plantSeptember 2025, not 2026.

Was a campaign to clean up the state back in 1986, and it was actually successful.
It irritates me that people assume it's something else.
Hate Texas if you need to, but please don't assume every thing it it has done is because of arrogance.
