Nashville, Friday, July 18: "It's Better in a Union: Fighting for Freedom, Fairness, and Security"
"On Friday, July 18 at 10 a.m., Tennessee workers and union leaders will hold a press conference and roundtable discussion at 225 Ben Allen Road as the AFL-CIOs Its Better in a Union: Fighting for Freedom, Fairness & Security nationwide bus tour stops in Nashville. The Tennessee AFL-CIO and the Nashville and Middle Tennessee Labor Council are bringing together local workers and union leaders for a press conference and roundtable on how the Trump administrations cuts to federal funding will impact local clean energy jobs and public service workers here in middle Tennessee.
The press conference and roundtable are part of a nationwide campaign to build power with workers in the two months leading up to Labor Day. While politicians sow chaos in the lives of working people and big corporations profit off our backs, working people across the country and their unions are fighting back.
During the discussion, workers will share personal stories about how theyve been impacted by reckless cuts to clean energy and federal agencies, and how theyre organizing for a better future. This is the first Its Better in a Union bus tour stop in Tennessee, which is home to 136,000 union members.
Press conference and then a moderated roundtable discussion. Lunch provide as supplies allow"
