Pittsburgh area college conservatives fearful after Kirk murder

Apparently college Rs now have figured out guns they all seem to love can be used for killing them, too.

Irony abounds.

https://www.post-gazette.com/news/politics-nation/2025/09/14/charlie-kirk-college-safety-free-speech-pittsburgh/stories/202509120078

When Pitt junior Julia Cassidy learned that Mr. Kirk had died, she said she walked out of class and began shaking.

At first, Ms. Cassidy, president of Pitt’s College Republicans, didn't understand why she was having such a reaction. She said she quickly realized it was because he was a “rallying force” behind the modern conservative movement on many campuses.

“He is one of us,” Ms. Cassidy said. “That is what we do on our campus. No matter what we thought about him personally or the way he went about doing what he did, the goal of the College Republicans is the same as his — to create a space for dialogue and have conversations.”

Ms. Cassidy said she and other students have feared for their safety on campus since the shooting.

....

Ally Aufman, a CMU junior and vice president of the College Republicans, said she was afraid to attend class after Mr. Kirk’s death. She was present at the Butler rally in July 2024 where Trump was shot and an attendee was killed.

“On a campus like CMU, I am fearful of putting my views out there,” she said. “I’ve lost friends and relationships with people … because of the views I have. It’s sad that this is reality, but I won’t stop being who I am.”

What the actual fuck is this crap?

The only 'conversation' that these fascists want to have is how 'many libs can we kill today'.

They have either said it, or wanted it. The only conversations they have is within their own echo chamber. Which they cannot understand why this is so wrong and against any rational understanding of life and people.

But of course, they don't want to.

Not that that word means anything anymore.

But it's ironic, innit, that the campus MAGA people are totally afraid the commies are coming gunnin' for them. They should be embracing their liberal brothers and sisters and acknowledging that Right-Wing murderers are coming after every-fucking-body .

party that initiates violence against it citizenry had a backlash effect on her life? She supports that!!! And now, she has a moment of clarity? And wait, she does not examine that thought fully, she just says she gotta' be who she is? Julia, you're supporting a party that is brainwashing you through the media. They stoke violence, and divide you from your fellow Americans. You're worried about CK, and that you too might be a target of political violence. Well guess what, we all run that risk now. Because of Republicans like you who blindly give their "R" vote to a convicted felon. Julia Cassidy's moment of clarity .....

a bullet in her ass. That's the price she has to pay so's everybody can have their guns.

You or I get shot? Tough shit ---- 2nd Amendment.

Your kids or grandkids get killed in school? Suck it up, Buttercup. They gave their lives for the 2nd Amendment.

Sorry Julia, your sense of security has been sacrificed for Charlie's 2nd Amendment.

And by the way, Charlie supported what happened to Charlie. His death strengthened the 2nd Amendment. .

Sucks to be brought down to the level of every pre-college student in the country and their parents, don't it?

To the girl from CMU who said this: “On a campus like CMU, I am fearful of putting my views out there,” she said. “I’ve lost friends and relationships with people … because of the views I have." Maybe that should tell you something? Like supporting the party of racism, hate, pedophilia, etc. may come with consequences? And she's afraid of putting her views out there on a campus like CMU? CMU ain't no bastion of liberalism. As an alumnus of said University myself, I can say definitively it likely has one of the least liberal student bodies of any major University, especially those located in the northeast. Makes me kind of scared how far extreme right her views must be,

Here is a story that happened just 2 months ago there. Before showing the article, here's some background on "The Fence" :

The Fence is an iconic piece of Carnegie Mellon’s Pittsburgh campus. Serving as a student-centered space for free expression and community, The Fence has brought the CMU community together for more than 100 years. The Fence may only be painted by Carnegie Mellon University-affiliated students. The Fence may only be hand-painted with paint brushes. No other tools such as spray paint or rollers and no other actions like dumping or smearing paint are permitted. The Fence must be completely covered with paint; partial paintings are considered vandalism. The Fence must be painted between midnight to sunrise. Any painting outside that timeframe is considered vandalism, excluding any corrective work to undo vandalism.

The Fence, built in 1923, which lies in the middle of the Cut. The Fence frequently displays witty or poignant messages, but is just as often used to advertise upcoming events or recent accomplishments. Because of its highly visible location on campus, it is an ideal place to proclaim one's message to as much of the student body as possible. The original wooden fence was replaced in 1993 when it collapsed under its own weight due to six inches of surrounding paint. At the time, it held the Guinness World Record for being the most painted object.

How a fence on CMU's campus divided students and administrators over what counts as free expression
Just hours before the Energy and Innovation Summit, Carnegie Mellon students converged on the cherished university landmark Monday night with white paint to proclaim “shame on you” and “no rapists on our campus.” On Tuesday morning, students woke up to a blank canvas. University administration had painted over the message with black paint.

Undeterred, roughly 15 students returned later that morning armed with white paint. They rewrote their messages. The grounds crew promptly came back with cans of white paint to restore the fence to a blank slate. No message. Just a quirky structure in the center of campus. Nothing to see here.

The exchange marked a notable moment in the fence’s history. A place once seen as a sacred space for free expression was being censored, students say. And in the aftermath, university officials left open the possibility of curtailing messaging on the iconic structure even more.

Tuesday was not the first time that university officials have painted over the fence. Administrators have reserved the right to conceal obscenities and have done so several times this past academic year. In February, after anti-Trump message with profanity was painted over, students repainted the fence, writing “don’t fencership my censorship,” according to CMU’s student newspaper.

Straight up censorship covering for this fascist administration.
