Luzerne County election bureau breaks seven ties

WILKES-BARRE — The Luzerne County Bureau of Elections conducted tiebreakers Friday for seven contests in the May 20 primary election with numbered cubes.

The candidate who got the number 1 cube won the tiebreaker. One tiebreaker determined a winner and party nomination. The other six tiebreakers didn’t determine nominations but placements and ballot positions in the general election.

Lisa Walker won a tiebreaker to win the Republican nomination for inspector of elections in Wilkes-Barre Ward 1. Walker and Warren Jacobson tied with six votes.

Corey Moore won the tiebreaker for third place in the Republican primary for Wilkes-Barre Area School Board, which determined four nominations. Moore and James F. Susek tied with 1,191 votes.
