State Superintendent Ryan Walters announced his resignation on Wednesday night on FOX News.
He said he will now serve as CEO of Teacher Freedom Alliance.
Since Walters resigned, Gov. Kevin Stitt will have to find someone to finish off the rest of the term.
This happened last in Oklahoma in 2021, when Attorney General Mike Hunter resigned and John O'Conner was appointed to replace him.

(250 posts)The Teachers Freedom Alliance is said to have an estimated 2700 members, hardly enough dues paying members to make a respectable living from the position he expects to hold.

(2,826 posts)Hopefully, wouldnt hold my breath, but hopefully his replacement can be somewhat better, someone who cares about Oklahomas kids.
Because he didnt care about the kids of Oklahoma. He cared about himself, pandering to the MAGA base with MAGA talking points and flexed his muscles while trying to raise his profile.
Good freaking riddance.
