Community members have raised concern about resurfaced content shared on social media by Nicole Sigurdson, a candidate for Ohio House District 19.
On her personal Instagram account in January 2025, Sigurdson shared an image of a Palestinian flag that read, From the river to the sea Palestine will be free. She also shared a screenshot of a tweet by Heba Gowayed that read, The anniversary of genocide is another day of genocide. I cannot believe this has gone on for a year. I cannot believe its getting worse. And I cannot believe I walk through a world that funds, applauds, and accepts this continues as it continues.
The posts, which have since been taken down by Sigurdson, raised some chatter online by concerned constituents. In a statement to the Cleveland Jewish News on March 10, Sigurdson directly addressed the posts.
Recently, I received some attention for content I shared on my personal Instagram account over a year ago, intending to raise humanitarian concern for lives lost in Gaza and support for Palestinian people. At the time, I did not fully appreciate the context of the language used in the content shared. Many months ago, when others expressed hurt by the posts, I reflected, apologized to those alerting me to the messaging used and I removed the content, she said.

(4,844 posts)the meaning of art he had placed on his body for all time, right? He is apparently getting a pass, so what to do. Is online "chatter" from concerned Ohio constituents mean more concerning about Platner's choices of body art and his comments. Are questionable comments and online postings from the "Left" of the Party more objectionable to some here than those from what would call the "Pretty Far Right" of the Party? And yeah, I know about Sanders and Warren, etc, and what they are saying.
