Cleveland mayoral candidates face off ahead of Election Day

CLEVELAND — There are three candidates looking to fill the biggest shoes in the city of Cleveland as the mayoral race comes to a head on Election Day.

Incumbent Democrat Mayor Justin Bibb faces off against Republican Laverne Gore and write-in candidate Democrat Ricky Pittman.

Cleveland's May primary was canceled after Bibb and Gore were the only candidates who collected enough verified signatures from registered voters prior to the June filing deadline. Pittman also made it as a write in candidate for the Nov. 4 ballot.

Bibb, the 58th mayor of Cleveland, is focused on modernizing city services and uplifitng communities through initiatives like the Southeast Side Promise program and a $100 million housing investment fund to expand affordable housing and revitalize neighborhoods.
