No mayoral candidate in Bayville? Other villages prepare for June 16 election

Six villages on Nassau County’s north shore are holding elections on Tuesday, June 16, with one village currently having no one running for mayor.

Bayville residents will find themselves in an uncommon position with no mayoral candidate on the ballot.

Village officials say they have no record of a previous election in which no one filed to run for the village’s top elected position. As a result, the next mayor of the village will be determined by write-in votes.

Mayor Steve Minicozzi, who was first elected in 2022, announced earlier this year that he would not run for reelection.
