I would hate to see it replaced by a Dollar store or Denny's or ......

This version of the Cotton Club opened in 1978. Still sad to see any live music venue close.

It's not like musicians make enough in NYC clubs to actually live in NYC anyway.

I had a pro tell me 35 years ago that, if you want to play jazz and survive, you need to move to Europe or Asia.

I knew a friend from college who did just that. He was playing as much as he wanted and occasionally teaching at Graz, and he made enough to have a house and family in Le Crest.
