Rensselaer County Board of Elections to conduct full recount of 2025 election

Rensselaer County, NY (WRGB) — The Rensselaer County Board of Elections announced a full recount of the 2025 General Election on Wednesday due to a formatting error.

According to a joint statement by the Republican and Democratic Commissioners, the error was discovered while they were re-canvassing the ballots as part of the post-election verification process.

The board of elections believes the error may have led to incorrect unofficial election results. They stated that in some towns, only ballot propositions were reported on election night.
