Broome Co. invites residents to serve as election inspectors
BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Broome County Board of Elections is urging residents to sign up to serve as election inspectors for the upcoming Nov. 4 election.
In New York State, poll workers prepare the polling places for voting, set up voting equipment, assist with check-in processes and demonstrate voting procedures.
Poll workers also shut down polling places and report election results to the Board of Elections.
In Broome County, poll workers are paid hourly wages for training sessions and for every day that they work during the election.
