North Plainfield's Mayorga to Face Graner in Somerset County NJ Election
NORTH PLAINFIELD , NJ - Republican Michelle Mayorga, a North Plainfield school board member, has been selected to face Democrat Elizabeth Graner, who has been appointed to fill the unexpired term of Douglas Singleterry on the Somerset County Board of Commissioners, in the November election to complete the final year of the term.
Singleterry was appointed a Superior Court judge last month.
Mayorga is the founder of Never Alone - Nunca Solos - an organization that provides direct support and advocacy to familiesparticularly bilingual familiesnavigating the special education system in public schools.
She also founded the NANS ABILITIES Foundation, which promotes awareness and inclusion for individuals with disabilities and autism. Her leadership has made her a respected figure in both English and Spanish-speaking communities within North Plainfield and across Somerset County, according to Tracy DiFrancesco, chair of the Somerset County Republican Organization.
Mayorga will join Republican candidates Michael Manochio, a former Union County homicide detective, for Sheriff; John Sweeney, Peapack-Gladstone Council president, for Surrogate, and Nick Cuozzo, a member of the Bernards Township Planning Board for Somerset County Commissioner in November.
