Former US Senator and congressman from Michigan Donald Riegle has passed away at age 88.
First elected to Congress in 1966, Reigle changed his party affiliation to Democratic from Republican over differences with the Nixon administration in 1973.
He was later elected Senator in 1976 and served for several terms.
