Ames city council candidates answer questions ahead of November election

Ames City Council members running for reelection this November addressed rising homelessness concerns, housing questions and more at a candidate forum.

Ward 1 Rep. Bronwyn Beatty-Hansen, Ward 3 Rep. Gloria Betcher and at-large Rep. Amber Corrieri are each hoping to secure a fourth term on the Ames City Council. Ames Mayor John Haila is also running for reelection this November and is seeking a third term.

All four candidates are running unopposed.

The City Council members sat down to speak with community members on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in a Q&A organized by the League of Woman Voters of Ames and Story County. Mayor Haila was traveling and unable to attend the forum.
