More details revealed about U.S. Rep. Cory Mills and ex-girlfriend at Lake City hearing
A judge heard further testimony from the ex-girlfriend of Congressman Cory Mills about why he should approve a protective injunction against Mills for cyberstalking and harassment at a Sept. 26 hearing, which also included new information about the congressman's marital status.
Lindsey Langston, the reigning Miss United States and a Columbia County Republican state committeewoman, has accused Mills of threatening to release intimate videos of her and possibly beat up any future romantic partners she might have.
The hearing had been continued from Sept. 5, when the parties exceeded the 90 minutes Columbia County Circuit Judge Fred Koberlein, Jr., had allotted.
During the Sept. 26 hearing, both Mills and Langston were brought back to the stand, and their lawyers made closing arguments to Koberlein, who asked them to submit proposed written orders by Thursday, Oct. 2, before he rules.
Among the newest revelations at the hearing, Mills admitted he remains married to his wife, Rana Al-Saadi, a naturalized citizen originally from Iraq, but that the two have been in talks to divorce for more than five years.
