Florida AG's flawed scheming against local prosecutor is exposed

If you haven’t been following the developing stories about Florida’s new, unelected attorney general trying to target Orange-Osceola prosecutor Monique Worrell, you should. For two reasons:

1) This is the kind third-world, anti-Democracy, anti-American garbage that should make you take to the streets — Tallahassee politicians trying to once again override a local election simply because they don’t like the result.

2) Though it’s obvious Attorney General James Uthmeier is scheming against Worrell, he’s incredibly bad at it. Like cartoon-villain bad. It’s like watching Wile E. Coyote load himself into a giant slingshot that’s pointed directly at a rock wall.

Basically, the same thing happened twice in a row:

Uthmeier made a wild accusation against Worrell in an apparent attempt to lay groundwork for removing her from office as his former boss, Gov. Ron DeSantis, did two years ago — only for the Sentinel to learn that Uthmeier hadn’t shared all the facts or had some of them just flat-out wrong.

Then, when Uthmeier was asked for an explanation — or if he could even prove what he said was true — Uthmeier refused to answer questions.
