(3,365 posts)Wed went through a long, careful process to take redistricting OUT of the hands of politicians.

(2,463 posts)and try to add 5 or so more Republican House seats, which would further solidify their majority. If we don't do anything, that will happen and there will be another 2 years of Republicans controlling the Federal government. We have a chance to regain the House in 2026, but that chance will evaporate if Texas redistricts and gains 5 more Republican seats. This will cause much harm to people, in addition--look at what they have already done with their Big Ugly Bill. The situation is too dire not to try to counter what Texas might do.
