The Victor Park Board prepares for first election in over 10 years

The Victor Park Board discussed multiple new projects, the potential acquisition of a 21-acre park and their first election since 2012 at their April 10 meeting.

Three of the park board’s five members' terms are up, leaving seats open for the next election. Vice-Chair Wes Young, Secretary Michelle Buker and Volunteer Coordinator Annie Bernauer have all reached the end of their four-year terms. While Young is retiring, Bernauer and Buker are both running for reelection. Candidates Sheri Jones, Lindsey Foerstler, Heather Jessop, Gina Deschamps will challenge the incumbents for the three open seats.

The board will hold an election sometime before May 6. Ballots will be mailed to Victor’s registered voters in the coming weeks. Election ballots can be submitted by mail or in person to the Ravalli County Administration Building at 211 S 4th St. in Hamilton before May 6.

All six candidates running were present at Thursday night’s meeting and participated in discussion about upcoming projects and election details.
