This South Bay Superintendent Will Not Seek Re-Election
SAN MATEO, CA — The San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools announced Thursday she would not run for re-election, according to a press release.
Nancy Magee was first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022.
Magee was in charge of San Mateo County schools during the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition back to in-person learning.
While in office, one of her focuses was to improve the district’s climate readiness. During her time, the San Mateo County Office of Education earned the Sustainability Champion Award and a CA Green Ribbon Schools Gold Achiever Award.
