When to expect District 1's special primary election results

Tuesday is the final day for San Diego residents to cast ballots in the special primary election for the county’s First Supervisorial District.

Nearly 52,000 mail ballots have already been returned, according to the county. Voters can expect updates on election results throughout April and into early May.

The first set of unofficial election night results will come in shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

This update will include mail ballots received before Election Day and vote center ballots from early voting between March 29 and April 7.

After the first unofficial report, election night updates will only include vote center ballots cast on Election Day. More unofficial results will be released by 6 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Monday.
