Yup... But many of us--especially in the West--deal with this kind of absolute ignorance toward animals hlthe2b Mar 2025 #4

I enjoy hiking in that area. If the horse ran off among those cliffs and trails, it couldn've been tragic, NBachers Mar 2025 #2

what a nut case. She should be in jail for that. The child could have been really hurt.

--especially wildlife from ignorant people constantly. To put a toddler on the back of a wild bison in Yellowstone for your photo? Let your 2 yo. stick their hand and feet in a near-boiling hot spring? Try to approach a rutting bull elk in Rocky Mtn. Nt. Park? Honestly. Even the way some approach dogs they don't know is incredible. And seemingly increasing. Maybe it has always been a problem at this level, but it certainly seems like this total lack of common sense toward animal interactions is increasing.

While going through the Rockies, the female half of the couple thought a couple of bear cubs was too good a photo op to pass up, so she took her camera and raced towards the cubs. Fortunately for her, her husband was a much faster runner, and managed to overtake her before she was shredded.

Certainly the dumbest near-interaction that I know of personally.
