Little Rock School District releases third draft of election zone map

The Little Rock School District released its third draft election zone map, after gathering feedback from the public on the first two drafts.

The third map was released Wednesday night and is available online, where members of the public can leave comments and feedback. The new map will only determine voting and representation on the Little Rock School Board.

This is part of an effort to reduce the size of the School Board from nine members to seven, in compliance with Act 503 of 2025, which amends the law governing school board elections among other things.

"Under this new law, the LRSD Board of Directors approved the creation of seven school board election zones, with members serving four-year terms," said Pamela Smith, a spokesperson for the school district. "What makes this process notable is the partnership with CityGate, a consulting firm working with LRSD to help ensure the proposed zone map aligns with the legal requirements and community priorities."
