Arizona early-voter list would be abolished under proposed ballot measure

A Republican state lawmaker who is also running for secretary of state has introduced a proposed ballot measure that would overhaul early voting in Arizona by eliminating the early-voter list, shortening the time to cast early ballots, and requiring proof of citizenship to receive an early ballot.

State Rep. Alex Kolodin, who as a lawmaker and a former lawyer for the Arizona Republican Party has pushed to abolish the state’s early-voter list, said in a press release that he’s pushing legislation to put the measure on the ballot because “Arizonans are tired of excuses and chaos on Election Day.”

Kolodin said in a statement that his proposal would improve identification standards and ensure timely election results. He did not respond immediately to requests for comment.

Some provisions of his proposed measure are already in state law, including a poll closing time of 7 p.m. on Election Day and a voter ID requirement.

They especially don't want people to vote in the privacy of their kitchen where the maga cultists can't taunt, intimidate, threaten them.

It's already checked if you are a citizen when you register to vote. If you're not one, you'll never get the early ballot because you're not registered. Ergo, if you get an early ballot, you're a citizen. It comes to the dwelling that is your registered address. The envelope (not the ballot) you must send the ballot back in must be signed. When the envelope is received back, your signature from your registration is checked against your known signature from your registration and if there's a problem, you are notified and have to cure it.

WHERE in this process is there potential for voter fraud/non-citizens voting? I'd love Alex to explain it to me. How does it happen with this system? A LOT SMARTER PEOPLE THAN YOU, ALEX, figured out this system, and it's been working just fine, for at least 2 decades that I know of!?!

This is a solution looking for a non-existent problem

On a happier note, I DO NOT think the voters will vote to have their early voting to be made less convenient for some bullshit reason like this.
