a couple of really stupid questions

First - where do I find the instructions for each month's photo contest?

Second - the option to "direct link" from Imgur no longer seems to be an option - or if it is, I can't find it. Is there a different way to post a photo from my own computer?

Here's the link that will show you how to post photos here on DU:

As for a hosting site, I use SmugMug. I think you'll find the site with this link: smugmug.com.

Good luck and welcome to the Photo Group!

I've discovered that if I use the app on my Samsung I can't get the link for .jpgs. However, I can post a photo from my phone to Imgur, and get the .jpg link later if I access it on my desktop PC.

Click on the three dots in the upper right of the image, and then click on "get share links." The third option down on the list is the link to a .jpg file. Again, this only works when you access it using a computer, not a phone.
