Friday's Horses with Pete and Maddie along with Around The Farm

Though the barn's not quite ready for them, the pair was let out on pasture for 45 minutes this afternoon. Laurie's limiting field time for the next couple of weeks until they get used to the grass.

Pete and Maddie have spent the past six months in their corral.

They had room to move to an extent.

But opportunities for grazing dwindled.


Until today. They were glad to get out.







Alas, all good things must come to an end. Laurie called the horsies
for dinner and they came back in. They'll go back out tomorrow afternoon.

Around The Farm ~
Seneca is our horses' barefoot trimmer. She's very good.

She started with Maddie, who sampled Mommy's newly mown lawn.

Later on Seneca used her rasp on Pete to trim, shape, and level his hooves.

Laurie's been moving dirt to build up and level earthen flooring in the barn.


Our friend Austin has been digging ditches to contain water and electric
lines out to the barn.

His Grampa taught Austin how to operate the bulldozer. He learned well.

Mom's up on the ladder to screw in a white strip high up.


Day's end. Finally.

Shadow was ready to come in too.

Laurie parked her tractor for the night. Then back in the house for dinner.
