Parmukkale natural mineral spring

Parmukkale has been a place for healing since probably before the Greek period. There is a large city that is being excavated. The mineral rich hot water created travertine pools and steps over time. For a while hotel sucked most of the water up for their own use. It is now a UNESCO site and those hotels are gone. The water flow is managed now.
More information on the place:

A photographer's lot it rough.

It was a bit of a surprise to end up with 5 days in Türkiye on a tour. We had signed up for Rhodes through a cheap offer and hadn't realized that part of the tour was in Türkiye. It was nice. We hope to be able to go again. But there are some concerns with their political situation.

They remind me a little of Yellowstone. But I can't imagine actually getting in the water.
