Related: About this forumI've been having problems posting images lately.
I've been using https://postimages.org/ since I gave up on imgur some time ago, but lately I've been getting a placeholder after posts have been up a while.
It's been suggested the site is throttling traffic and that may be. It seems the posts that fail are popular ones with nearly 100 recs. Now I'm trying to decide whether to find another app, upgrade PI, or not post anything that may be popular. I've been using that last method until lately, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a better site, and no one posts more images than this group.
If not I may see if a premium account helps, but obviously that's a last resort.
This is what my images change to after a few days:
It's perhaps amusing that if that image gets throttled it will be the same.

(19,915 posts)...but it got so I couldn't even upload photos at all. Then I would upload and it didn't show my images. I think I had to search the site.
Even just now, I tried to use it so I could post an image here, but keeps saying upload failed. I may have been at the wrong site.
I tried again at imgur.com, and if this works I may switch back

On edit... That didn't work out very well. That was the only link shown.

What could I be doing wrong?

(12,879 posts)Hover mouse over the image in Imgur, left click on "..." in the upper right corner of the image.
Click on "Get Share Links"
Click "Copy Link" beside where it says "BBCode (Forums)"
Paste the copied link into the message, delete the "[img]" and "[/img]" from the link
Maybe there's a better way, but this works.
AND.... here's whatcha' get:

(153,809 posts)I started using SmugMug several years ago and I have been very pleased with the site.
I do have a paid account, but I think it's minimal.
Here's a link if you want to check them out: https://www.smugmug.com/
From that link, you can access what they offer. I am not interested in selling my photos, but I find their support very good.
Best of luck!

(20,627 posts)Now I do, so thanks for that!
I'm really sorry to hear postimages is doing that. I use it and have recommended it to others because it's so easy, but I can see why it may work best for casual users like me rather than serious photographers.
I don't know if any of my images have disappeared like that, but I doubt it. I don't think mine get enough attention to trigger that. For people whose images get a lot of views, though, that could be a real problem.
