Raspberries

These are an experiment that I've wanted to do for some time. Today was my day! I used my light box with 2 different materials to show the berries; one was black velvet and the other was white satin.

2. Great photography, CaliforniaPeggy. Love the white satin version. Makes the raspberries seem way yummier.

It's interesting: the white satin turned out to be more interesting than the black velvet. You just never know!

11. Those raspberries would be great in my homemade kombucha. As well as homemade Skyr ice cream popsicles.

I haven’t tried raspberries yet, but now I’ve absolutely got to. Organic oranges or tangerines are my fave so far, and make the popsicles taste just like the old-fashioned Creamsicles — except waaay healthier.

Thanks for giving me the idea.

Bet you can get even closer on the black background.

I haven't worked with a light box since graphic arts school! Hmm.

Everything has to wait until I'm resettled for now. I' in a holding pattern right now.

Maybe I could have gotten closer. I did crop a bit.

Andy taught me about light boxes; I bought this one with his encouragement. I know he would be pleased to see me experimenting!

Holding patterns are good while you get resettled!

I really hadn't thought much about experimenting, but once I got started, I remembered! YES.

I'm very happy with these and I'm so glad you like them too.

I’ve always been partial to black velvet, but that white background is very nice. Lighting is perfect

Those are the effects I was aiming for!

I was surprised at how much more I liked the white vs. the black. My light box performs to my demands!

It’s fun to see the difference in the black and white backgrounds. I think you see more of the shape of the berry on the white.

My favorite berry, too!

Glad you like them! Yeah, I'm preferring the white to the black. You're right: you do see the shape of the berry better on the white satin.

I'm right there with you!

I really didn't know what to expect. That they both turned out was beyond my expectations!
