Croesus Temple, Turkiye

We went on a German tour of Rhodes and Türkiye 2 weeks ago. Four days touring archaeological sites and other stuff with a knowledgeable guide. Here are some pictures from the Artemision Sanctuary of Ephesus. Greek ruin dating back to 680 BC for construction start. The final temple was 60 by 100 meters and funded by King Croesus.

It boggles the mind how old these ruins are and we can still see evidence of human existence from so long ago. TY for sharing.

The ruins are remarkably old. And the people who built them are long gone. Amazing that we can see them today.

It helps to build stuff out of big stones.
Although a large number from many ruins were repurposed down through the ages
into other buildings.

Those were great shots! We were there this past September. Ephesus was awesome, but our guide was really pushing the "Erdogan is wonderful" line.

Ephesus was great even in the rain that started.
Such a huge excavation.
