And I still love it

Not many albums more indelibly 90's than that one for me, in fact I love all the first 3 3EB albums a ton. Also one of the few 90's albums I still listen to OFTEN.

2. I came upon that album a few years after it was released, having taken a break from popular music.

It didn't take long to fall in love with it. Just some fantastic songs on it. And you're right, it is one of those albums you just have to listen to every few years. Or if you hear one of the songs, then you need to hear the rest

The closing trio in particular are absolutely dynamite songs (and my 3 favorites on that album) and IMHO are what make it just SOOOO freaking great taken as a whole. What comes before is awesome and it would still be a excellent even if it ended at I Want You, but The Background, Motorcycle Drive-by and God of Wine make it God-level IMHO

They're still making albums and touring, too, and they're still pretty dang decent records even if none has topped the first 3.
