1. I was so conflicted when I first heard this band

A senior in high school, some of my friends were dismissive, calling it ‘chick rock’ & the like. I eventually won some converts, citing the harmonies of bands like CSN&Y and the fact that they weren’t totally acoustic.

I was trying to think of a song to sing to myself in the car and "I Need You" came to mind. I loved their music, it was just up my alley. They are pure Hippy

...a coffeehouse trio in college.
I don't remember if we did this one, but we did Ventura Highway, Sandman, & Sister Golden Hair for sure.
We did a pretty high fraction of our gigs at locations that had a piano, but if not I just sang. Since the songs needed 3 vocal parts, we could live with just 2 guitars on America tunes. There were other tunes we just couldn't do without a piano, but America songs lent themselves to either option.
