...(The night he died) this song, Don't Come A Knockin' & Crossfire were the absolute highlights of his set.
They killed those 3 songs.
The 2 band jam at the end included a fantastic version of Let It Rain with SRV & Clapton trading licks.

Thanks for adding your story.

In the 80s my cousin left town one weekend without letting anybody know. Upon returning we asked about it and she said she went to hear Clapton, twice. Drove 400 + miles to Canada. Woop.

Saw him perform at Alpine Valley the night before the helicopter crash that took his life.
