My mid-year list of potential albums of the year

I maybe in my 60s now but I'm still obsessed with finding new music to listen to. Here's a few released this year so far that I've had on repeat. Next month the next part of the Ethel Cain saga comes out and I can't wait for that. I know it's going to end up on list and without even hearing it yet will probably be number 1.

Alex Henry Foster- A Nightfall Ritual
Black Country New Road- Forever Howlong
Bruit- The Age of Ephemerality
Ethel Cain- Perverts
Horsegirl- Phonetics On and On
Porridge Radio- The Machine Starts to Sing
Squid- Cowards
Swans- Birthing
We Lost the Sea- A Single Flower

Surprised I've not heard of Ethel Cain. Digging this Nettles tune, looks like the Preachers Daughter album was a pretty big hit in terms of Spotify listens (for this genre of music, I mean). I'll check that out after Nettles is done. Thanks for the tips!

Edit: She gives me some Angel Olsen vibes.

I don't think many people put out concept albums anymore but all of her releases so far tell the story of the character Ethel Cain and there's some deep lore and back story on it.

If you give her stuff a full listen I recommend going to genius.com and follow along with the annotations.
