(8,921 posts)They rose to fame in the decade of excess but weren't excessive. They stayed grounded with more of a 70's blues rock approach. But they did embrace the hair metal genre to a degree and made some great videos. They even featured Bobbie Brown in one!

(15,247 posts)I still have that cassette, yes, cassette, and I will pop it in now and then as I'm truckin on down the road.
I love the Blues Rock of that album, they managed to combine semi metal and blues, something not so easy to get away with, but they did it.

But back in 84, I thought they were right up at the top of what would later come to be called Hair Metal"
In fact, their self-titled debut was in heavy rotation in my barracks day room on the weekends back then. (Shout out to Bld. 119 3rd floor crowd, miss you guys)
The blues rock they released later was also cool, but don't sleep on the Hair Spray Anthems they dropped back when I was a 21-year-old Airman. So, here's a couple.
