I went to Goldblatt's (a Chicago area department store) to buy this album, because I wanted Sunshine.
I had just turned 14, and rode my bike to the shopping plaza where they were located.
I was a jazz piano kid, and was just then getting into rock, so I went to the "C" bins, grabbed an album, went to the register. It was the first album I ever bought with my own money. My cousin & I had a huge paper route, so we had a source of modest income.
Well, I didn't think to look at the back of the jacket, but was excited that I was getting a double album.
Oops! Disraeli Gears was not a double album.
I inadvertently bought Wheels Of Fire!
But, I didn't regret it because of the live disc with Spoonful & Crossroads. I'm a jazz kid and there's all this improvisation. I was actually pleased with my screw-up!
I still have that same copy of that album.
I bought Dusraeli Gears a couple months later.
