The riff is iconic, of course. The lyrics are dark, yet pretty.
The fun fact for musicians is that it's likely the only hit song ever where the guitar solo is played completely in phrygian or locrian mode. It's what gives it that Middle Eastern feel.
But, it needs more cowbell.
